Smokey Update - Oct 2008
Smokey is back, flipping from old school to abstract and dropping unique beats and flows to wake up hip hop heads and give em' something a little more raw then what they are use too. Still rolling East London homeless this mc/producer has been seriously slept on in the scene, but he ain't petting or feeling sorry for himself, its all about dropping serious hip hip and making something that can't be fucked with.2008 has seen Smokes producing film scores for a LA film director, making the Gumball Ralley 3000 theme tune, producing, spitting and doing live shows with 'The Kemistry'. At the same time he has recorded his album, plus a series of little ep's which will be dropping on Bare Records very soon. His album 'Haunted by the 100's' will be dropping next summer but a host of tracks will be dropping before hand.
Kicking off the start of releases is a Series of ep's to be released in two's, production comes from Smokey and Bare Beats separately and their siginature duo production as 'Bare Smoke' too, using samples, synths and live instruments to bring something new to the scene. No gimmicks just raw/real hip hop that will be get your neck snapping.

Following the release of his debut solo single - Road Zombies, Smokey is now dropping a double, 10 track deep, EP - Words from the Missing. Production on the EP is courtesy of East London based duo, Bare Smoke ...half Smokey & half Bare Beats. Bare Smokes unique blend of banging drums, cut-up samples, live instruments and killer bass lines will make your gut spasm. Their unique beatsmithing breaks away from the run of the mill hip-hop sound and brings some fresh sounding, dark ish that will leave your ears exhausted.
Flipping the scripts with street rhymes, stories and life entrapments, Smokey blesses the tracks with pure aggression, his passion for hip-hop and his dedication to the streets of the city that have educated him. Smokey stays true to those raw elements that made Hip-Hop a culture and a lifestyle long before it became adopted & diluted all over the world.
2006 has seen Smokey working hard in the Studio and doing live shows drumming with various Jazz bands throughout the South East. Ever eclectic, next year will see the release of his debut Drum 'N' Bass album as well as a full Bare smoke album, a Smokey mix CD and a whole host of other releases.
